Making Shortbread

21st July 2017
Making Shortbread

Residents have been busy making batches of crumbly shortbread!

With its light and buttery flavour, and not forgetting the sugary sweetness, it is impossible to turn down a piece!

We got to work making some traditional plain shortbread as well as ones with some cherries in too.

The perfect partner to a lovely cuppa, everyone enjoyed a slice and we all can't wait for the next batch!

As it's commonly know, Shortbread originated in Scotland and the first printed recipe was produced in 1736 from a Scotswoman called Mrs McLintock.
