For many care homes, writing comprehensive care plans, keeping them up to date, and communicated with residents’ families can be a time consuming task for care staff. As it is essential, we looked into how we can continue to provide our high level of care whilst ensuring all administration and care planning is kept up to date.
Person Centred Software has one main focus – improving the lives of residents and care staff. It was created by people who have been involved in care for over 20 years with the aim to make the admin fit in with the care routine, not the other way around.
We are rolling out this fantastic electronic care management system to alleviate pressure on care staff, make documenting care plans quicker and ensure all residents are safe, comfortable and happy. The system is easy to use, fast, and icon driven with limited need for typing. All information is shown in real time and can be accessed anywhere from a desktop computer, laptop, or even a tablet so is always up to date.
A big positive is its communication capabilities; there is a resident’s social network called the Relatives Gateway which allows everyone involved with a resident’s life – be that the resident themselves, their family members, friends or additional care providers – to be involved with all elements of their care planning, view the care plan remotely and also interact with staff.
We have welcomed positive feedback already with residents telling us that the system is very good and they are glad their families can be kept up to date; they have all had a go on the iPods too! Staff have also said it is a welcome addition and will enable them to ensure all residents continue to receive the best quality care.
