These fab knitted hand muffs are called twiddlemuffs and they are designed to help people with dementia occupy their hands. Dementia sufferers often have restless hands so these creative muffs, made by volunteers from Let’s Make It community art group in Weymouth, help by giving them something to ‘twiddle’ in their hands! Also in the winter they will keep their hands nice and warm too.
Let’s Make It brings together residents from all walks of life in the borough and outlying areas to learn new skills and make crafts in a relaxed social setting. Read more about the talented knitters and their innovative handwarmers here.
We were very pleased to be given some twiddlemuffs to use for dementia care and in our home and we are sure they will be of very good to use to our residents.
