Craft Sessions with Libby

Current studies in the fields of art and music therapy confirm that art can affect individuals by fostering both physiological and psychological healing. Whilst children are encouraged to be creative with arts & crafts lessons at school, it is not only young minds that can benefit from doing art to increase creativity and stimulation.

According to behavioural neurologist Bruce Miller at the University of California, whilst our brains will inevitably age, creative abilities do not necessarily deteriorate. In fact, in the studies, the ageing brain has been proven to respond well to art as we allow the brain’s two hemispheres to work in tandem.

Displaying around the home

We choose to display artwork and drawings from our residents on the walls to encourage more creativity and add a splash of colour to the home!

Here’s some recent pictures of our residents at work decorating vases, picture frames and pots.
