    If you go down to the woods today, You’re sure of a big surprise! We were when we visited Thorncombe Woods and Hardy’s Birthplace Visitor Centre last week. 

Following on from last weeks Wildlife update where we had Deer in the garden, we have spotted our red–headed Woodpecker enjoying Win’s birdbath. This is placed in her beautiful patch of garden and always attracts such a huge variety of birds. We also have a pair of ducks who we think return to us every year. We are keeping a look out for some ducklings, we really look forward to this pair returning every spring. 

Sarah told us that some friends came to visit her recently and have bought her a stunning white climbing rose called Rosa Alberic Barbier. This has now been planted by the apple tree outside her bedroom window. She was also quick to spot an offer for 10 free lavender plants, that she is going to plant in the pot outside her garden. Thank you Sarah.

We had 2 Deer frolicking in the garden at breakfast last week. What better view could we ask for while we eat the most important meal of the day! Can you spot them?

Resident’s and staff made beautiful cards for the Queen’s 90^th Birthday. Val worded the insert and our 3 very own nonagenarians had their photos included and signed them with messages for the queen.
