Our response to COVID-19

29th April 2020
Our response to COVID-19

The current situation we find ourselves in is unprecedented, and everyone has needed to make significant changes to their daily lives. Across UK care homes, more strict measures have been put in place to prevent the spread of the virus and protect the elderly who are most at risk.

At Wolfeton Manor, life goes on as usual! You can rest assured that our care home is following all government guidelines in order to protect your loved ones and provide the same high level of care you have come to expect from us. If you have any questions regarding our care and response to Covid-19, please feel free to contact our team on 01305 262340.

Reduced visiting hours

In order to protect staff, residents and their families, we have currently stopped all face to face visitations; this was the only way that we could both remain compliant with government regulation and ensure the wellbeing of everyone.

However, we still actively encourage regular communication, whether that is via a daily phone or Skype call, so our residents can stay connected with loved ones even during this difficult time. We are taking the time to keep families informed, so they are aware of any updates in either our procedures or the welfare of their loved one.

Preventative measures

In order to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19, all our staff are required to undergo a rigorous routine prior to starting their shift. This includes recorded temperature checks, locking away personal items, washing hands and the use of face masks. The wellbeing of our staff and residents is our top priority and we will do everything we can to ensure this.

Staying busy both indoors and out

Thanks to our activities co-ordinator, Mel, life at Wolfeton Manor continues to be as fun, varied and colourful as ever! Due to the lovely spring weather we have been having recently, residents have been making the most of the sun to get out and about in our beautiful grounds. We know how important fresh air is, especially during lockdown, so have been encouraging activities like gardening, painting outdoors and caring for the resident ducks. Check out our Facebook page to keep up to date with all the latest happenings at Wolfeton Manor.

The experienced carers at Wolfeton Manor always make it their mission to stay ahead of the latest health advice issued by the government and the NHS to ensure all our residents are healthly, safe and happy. To find out more, please don’t hesitate to contact our friendly team today on 01305 262340
