Drawing Scenic Views

Drawing Scenic Views

We've enjoyed some fantastic sessions with Sarah-Jane from Creative Minds recently.

Our residents showed off their artistic skills and got to work drawing beautiful scenic views with chalks and also still life painting.

Research tells us that making art and doing classes is an essential component of activities for the elderly and it offers a wide range of health benefits. Many studies demonstrate that art can reduce anxiety and depression that are usually symptomatic of chronic diseases. Other research shows that the imagination and creativity of older adults can flourish later on in life, helping them to realize unique, unlived potentials, even when suffering from Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease.

We always look forward to Sarah-Jane's visits and admire the work that Creative Minds do for care homes, learning disability services and day centres in England.

At the number one Dorchester Care Home Wolfeton Manor, we provide residential care for the elderly in Charminster and the surrounding areas.

One of the most highly regarded care homes in Dorset, we employ a team of established care professionals providing person-centred care to each of our residents.
