Care charity golf tournament raises £14,000

A charity golf tournament at Machynys Golf Club in South Wales has raised over £14,000 for Barchester's Charitable Foundation.

Taking place over the 9th and 10th of September, the golf event benefitted from glorious weather to become a huge success.

A charity dinner took place after the round of golf had ended on the final day, with the winners of the tournament and amount raised announced.

Barchester's Charitable Foundation provides support to adults with physical or mental disabilities, ensuring they benefit from increased independence and continue to live a dignified life.

The money raised from the golf event will go towards increasing the number of individuals that can be helped across the UK.

Mike Parsons, Chairman of Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, said: “The event was really successful and such fun to be part of. Barchester’s CEO Pete Calveley is looking forward to taking the golf back to Castle Stuart in 2016, to continue this fantastic annual event.

We are immensely thankful for everyone’s support and generosity, and the money raised will make a huge difference to all the people we help.“
